The world says, "Home life is boring. Nothing exciting happens at home. The less amount of time you spend at home, the better. No true happiness comes from being at home. Why would you want to be at home, when you could be somewhere else?"
I recently received a phone call. Come and listen in. – “Tara, I have the most exciting ministry opportunity for you to become involved with. The Lord is really working here. You'll need to commit to a year away from home, but believe me, it will be worth it. There are so many exciting things going on here every single day!" This is when I really began to consider this issue. Was this person really saying that he feels sorry for me because I have to live a boring monotonous life at home when I could be experiencing new and exciting things every day. I had to cry out to the Lord for insight, because I believe that this is a lie that so many of us could believe. Are we blinded by this lie and cannot see the truth?
Some of us may be just on the brink of falling off the edge because we are letting Satan infiltrate our lives with his lies. I think it is safe to say whether we know it or not, some of us may be in desperate need of honest answers to this question.
Can we believe that the very One that brought women into existence, would create her and then leave her clueless as to why she even exists, or what she is supposed to fill her days with? If we believe this, then we have to believe that a God fearing mother would birth her child, her precious baby whom she has waited nine months for, and then lay him/her in the crib and never returns to her darling to nurture, comfort, love, hold, delight in and cherish?
Can we believe that she would never direct her son or daughter, about how to survive in this world? Would she never lovingly show her daughter how to pull her dress over her tiny frame, how to take that special silver spoon to her son's mouth for the very first time, or how to say the long awaited words “mommy” and “daddy”? Dear sisters, I believe that it is time to go back to the very beginning; a very good place to start. God Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, of the galaxies and the entire universe and beyond, decided He was lonely and wanted company. So this very same God who created all of these great and glorious things stopped, to create tiny little beings, made in His image….Mankind!!! He created in these frail beings, bodies that would honor Him in all things, minds that would think His thoughts after him, and most importantly, hearts that would love, adore and desire more and more of a relationship with Him every single day of their lives. He created them with the ability to talk to Him, with ears to listen in return to their maker. He wanted a friend so intimate, that He could share His heart with, love and cherish. So He created… MANKIND!
Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? But do you remember what happened in the third chapter of Genesis? Satan begins his deception with a seed of doubt. “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Does this sound familiar with a certain seed of doubt that is spreading like wildfire among the human race? I think it goes like this: “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall be keepers at home? Hath God really said that?”(Taken from a portion of “Twenty-Four Hours Is All You Get”- By: Susan Bradrick.) Ladies, the God who created heaven and earth gave us His Word! This Holy book has in it all the answers to life that you will ever need!
How do we know that? Because God knew every problem we would ever face. He knew this very lie would creep into His precious world He created. It has not taken Him by surprise. He gave us every solution that we will ever need.
Ladies, the question is up to you. Do you think home is too dry, boring and worthless?
Do you think you are brave enough, smart enough and strong enough to go out in the world? The real problem lies with Christian young women today who are weak and scared to death to look deep into the Word of God, because they are afraid of what they will find…The TRUTH!!!
We don’t want the truth because we are sin filled, self gratifying people who want to go our own way and do our own thing! Ladies, the question is up to you. Are you courageous enough to take the bravery challenge, to go against the wind of the times? The choice is up to you right now.
But remember: when we hear a truth from the Lord, we are held accountable by Jesus Christ to obey it! James 1:22 warns us of this. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only deceiving your own selves.” My dear and beloved sisters, I could try in my own reasoning and intellect to persuade you to enjoy being at home. But until you ask the Lord to open your heart and make you sensitive to his answers, the scales on your eyes, which Satan loves, will never be taken away. And most importantly, it is only until we dig into the very Person, who created the very existence of women, that we can find true and lasting answers! Come dig with me!
Ladies, do you think that after all of this, you would even dare to say or think, God doesn’t really care how I fill my days and He definitely doesn’t really care where I spend my days. Do you believe we could learn to enjoy being used for God's purposes in our homes? Could we do this to obey our Lord?
